Revolver. Single-Action. 6-rd capacity. Civil War Union Army issued Percussion revolver. Manufactured 1862. Third year of production. Produced 1860-1873. 8" round barrel with front blade and v-notched hammer rear sights. Naval engagement scene on cylinder. Top of barrel stamped "Address Col. Saml Colt New-York U.S.A. America. "Colts Patent" stamped on left receiver. Patent date on the cylinder. Brass triggerguard. Matched serial number on the cylinder, barrel, frame, triggerguard, and the backstrap, wedge mismatched, Martially inspected with "H", "R", and "B". Backstrap slotted for shoulder stock. Bore is fair with some pitting but has rifling present. Cylinder charge holes are rusty. Action is smooth/tight. Slight traces of blue left and the rest has turned a gray patina, and some slight scattered areas of pin-prick pitting. Grips are very good with faint traces of the cartouches present, may be replacements. An early revolver made in the second year of the war. NRA Condition-Good. Antique Firearm.
