Colt 1860 Army revolver S/N 39843 with mismatched cylinder #3560. This 1860 Army was sold in 2003 by Little Johns with a Remington 58 inscribed “Col. G.P. Robinson” on the trigger guard. Both pieces had been in a Brooklyn New York Historical Society inventory and were being sold by Martin Lane Antiques of New York to raise funds for this organization. A 2006 dated letter to this effect is included recanting all we know andsigned by John R. Gangel. This Colt is hand stamped “General, Morgan, Captured, in KY” on four lines. Matching except cylinder which appears to be in the same condition. The overall condition is good to very good withsome scene and good grips. A period holster is included. John Hunt Morgan of course was one of the most active Confederate General whose raids and engagements were legend in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Ohio. (Antique)Est.: $2500-$5000
