Rare Colt Model 1900 "Long Slide" Automatic Pistol. Manufactured consecutively from 1900 to 1902, with a total production run of exactly 4,274 units. This early production three digit serial number was manufactured in 1900. This particular Colt 1900 was shipped back to the factory at some point and was refinished and had the rear sight safety modified to have a fixed sight put in place. Short recoil, locked breech, single=action trigger, 6" barrel, blade/notch fixed sights, high hammer spur, 7 round magazine, rear slide serrations, heel magazine release. All colt markings are clear/readable except the Rampant Colt on the rear left frame is a little feint. Smooth walnut grips have been varnished, it has a old re-blued finish with some scattered light pitting showing underneath, the original magazine's floorplate is marked "PAT'D SEPT. 9, 1884", floorplate is pitted. the bore is very good/bright with good rifling, the slide action is very smooth, the grips are very good and the re-blued finish is about 98%. Comes with a Colt factory letter stating this pistol was one of a five gun shipment to the M. Hartly Co. in NYC on September 11, 1900.
