'British Proofs' Single action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .38 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1913. The Colt 1902 was the second pistol in the 1911 developmental lineage, it was an improvement over the 1900 Model with tool-less take-down, increased capacity, added slide catch, and lanyard ring. Features a polished blued finish on frame, 6" barrel, round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with 'u' notch, forward knurling on the slide, smooth fire blued trigger, spur hammer, heel magazine release, 8 round magazine with patent date on the floorplate, steel frame with slide stop & lanyard ring on the left side and checkered hard rubber grips with "COLT" & Rampant Colt decor. Serial number on the frame. Crown over "V" and crown over "G" proofs on barrel, crown over "V" on frame. Pistol retains approximately 70% of its original blued finish showing finish loss on the slide and handling marks/wear on the frame. Bright niter blue on several pins and screw heads. The action is sound, the bore shows good rifling but dirty., markings are clear and the hard rubber grips are very good except there is a chip on the right panel by the top screw. NRA Condition-Very Good. C&R firearm.
