Extremely scarce single action semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 Automatic Colt Pistol, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1908. The Colt 1905 was an important stepping stone towards the 1911, as it was the first pistol Colt produced in the .45 ACP chambering. Approximately 6,100 of the Model 1905 pistols were produced from 1905-1911. Features a blued refinish, 5" barrel, round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with 'u' notch, rear cocking serrations on the slide, smooth trigger, knurled low-spur hammer, heel magazine release, 7 round magazine, steel frame with slide stop, double diamond checkered walnut grips. Bore is fair condition, with continuous light pitting following the curves of the rifling, some brightness remaining, visible rifling. Metal surfaces have turned brown, with mottled colors on grip straps, small areas of patina throughout, small amount of light pitting on forward edges of slide, edge losses throughout. Grips are good to very good, dark and stained, some small dents, smoothing of checker points. Missing lower right grip screw. Markings are crisp. Magazine is a replacement, a bit stiff to remove. Action is smooth, Includes a factory letter showing shipment to New Orleans. Condition is NRA Good+ *** C&R Firearm ***
