Refinished WWI era U.S. military contact single action semi-automatic service pistol chambered in .45 Auto, manufactured in Hartford, CT circa 1918. Features a nickel plated finish, 5" barrel, low-profile round blade front sight, dovetailed rear sight with ‘u’ notch, smooth ‘long’ trigger, knurled wide hammer spur, manual safety on the left side of the frame, grip safety, push button magazine release, 7 round magazine, steel frame, smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop and reproduction double diamond checkered walnut grips. Markings: Slide - "PATENTED APR.20,1897. SEPT.9,1902/DEC.19,1905. FEB.14,1911. AUG.19,1913”, “COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.", "H", & “G”. Frame – Intertwined “JMG” inspectors mark & "No 248633" which the nickel has been removed to reveal. Barrel - "HS" & "P." and Magazine - "L". Pistol retains approximately 85% of its nickel plated refinish showing scattered scratches, small losses in the cocking serrations on the slide and a large loss around the serial number on the frame. Action is sound, the bore is fair with rust between the lands, markings are good and the repo wood grips are very good with the right panel slightly ill-fitting.
