Colt 1st Gen. Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolver, #291596, .32 WCF (.32-20) cal., 4.75'' round barrel with standard sights and right-side ejector rod marked with maker's name and address in two lines on top, ''32 W.C.F.'' at left; fluted 6-shot round cylinder is unmarked; solid frame has right-side hinged loading gate batch-marked ''2620,'' two-line patent dates and encircled ''Rampant Colt'' logo on left side, two-piece steel gripstraps, two-piece checkered black hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt in oval panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1907. Condition is very good retaining no original finishes but for traces of blue in protected areas and scattered light oxidation, especially on left side barrel. Grips are sound showing overall moderate wear, and fit well. Visible numbers match; markings are clear; action is smooth and crisp; bore is clean showing light frosting and strong rifling. Consignor states that this gun belonged to a Dr. Sheldon who used it for personal protection as he made house calls in rural Wyoming in the early 1900s. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
