Colt 1st Generation Single Action Army Revolver with Territory of Arizona Factory Letter, #286851, .45 Colt cal., 5.5" barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, stag two-piece grips, with standard fixed sights. Mfg'd 1906. Revolver is in near excellent overall condition as professionally restored, retaining approx. 97%-98% of an old, quality reblued finish, with wear at the muzzle, scattered scratches and handling marks on the replacement barrel. Frame displays vivid newer color case hardened finish. Serial numbers are sharp, except the butt which is partially legible as nearly polished off during the refinish. Grips are near excellent and fit well. Action is crisp with all four clicks. Bore is bright with well-defined rifling. Includes a copy of a Colt factory letter, indicating that the revolver was shipped to Samuel Hill Hardware Company, Prescott, Territory of Arizona, on December 7, 1906. The letter confirms the caliber, while indicating the revolver was shipped with a 4.75" barrel, blue finish, and stocks not listed. Revolver was one of two guns in shipment. An interesting Colt that has been professionally restored and originally shipped 5 years before Arizona's statehood on February 14, 1912. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (C&R/PPT)
