Revolver, double-action. 6-rd capacity. This revolver is Marked "City of New York, BWS" on the left frame below the hammer. The Board of water supply was created by the state legislature in 1905. Part of the BWS's responsibilities was guarding the city's water supply. (Now guarded by the NYCPD) Built on the E frame. 6" round barrel. Round front sight blade, with notch cut rear sight. Exposed extractor rod. High-polish blued metal finish. 2-line Colt address, and patent dates on top of the Barrel. "Colt Army Special" on left side of barrel. Checkered, diamond, hardwood grips. This revolver was manufactured in 1910. Action is crisp/tight. Bore is excellent/bright. Cylinder chambers are very good, but dirty Grips are very good, with a few very minor dings. Blued finish is about 85%, with some wear to the edges. Some finish loss on the left side of the barrel. minor scratches/rubs. Some small rust spots on the lower trigger. (Should clean up) Hammer and trigger have a lot of the fire-blue finish remaining. Overall , a great-conditioned 110 year old Colt, with a interesting history. NRA Condition-Very Good, plus.
