Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver, #301635, .44-40 Win. CF cal., 4.75'' round barrel with right-side ejector marked with maker's name and address in two lines on top, ''(Bisley Model)/Colt Frontier Six Shooter'' at left; fluted 6-shot round cylinder is unmarked; solid frame has two-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and encircled ''Rampant Colt'' logo at left, long topstrap sighting groove, front-removable cylinder pin, right-side hinged loading gate batch-numbered ''3889'', curved low-spur hammer, steel trigger guard and ''humped'' backstrap, two-piece checkered black hard rubber grips having the Rampant Colt within an oval relief panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1907, with full-blued barrel, cylinder and straps, case hardened frame and hammer, fire-blued trigger. Factory letter verifies all features, shipped to Ketelson & Degetau, El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico, on Feb. 4, 1908, in a shipment of 12 guns. Condition is fine retaining approx. 70% original deep Colt blue with highpoint thinning (esp. muzzle, backstrap), softly mottled case colors, and bright fire-blue trigger. Grips are sound without cracks or chips, show only lightest wear. Action is strong and smooth; lockup is tight; bore is bright showing minor frosting and sharp rifling. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
