Colt Bisley Model Single Action Revolver, #288319, .44-40 CF cal., 5.5'' round barrel with ejector and standard sights, marked with maker's name and Hartford address on top, and ''Colt Frontier Six Shooter'' on left side; fluted round 6-shot cylinder; solid frame has right-side loading gate (batch numbered ''44''), characteristic low hammer spur, two-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and an encircled Rampant Colt logo on left side; ''humped'' steel gripstraps have two-piece checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt in an oval panel at top. Mfg'd ca. 1907. Condition is very good. Barrel, ejector rod and trigger guard loop retain good traces of original blue, cylinder flutes approx. 90% blue, frame shows case colors at front but is otherwise silvered out, the balance of the metal is smooth gunmetal gray with scattered roughness. Grips show only light wear, no losses and fit well. Edges and markings are sharp; action is strong and smooth; bore shines with scattered etching and sharp rifling. Only 6,803 Bisleys were mfg'd in this caliber. Est.: $750-$1,000. (C&R/PPT)
