SN: 7121-M2 Pistol. Semi-Automatic. 7+1 capacity. In 1968 Colt wanted to commemorate WW1 by producing a Model 1911 in remembrance of the 4 most noted battles of WW1. This pistol is for the 2nd battle of the Marne. Production for each model was 7400. All were Pre-series model 70's with flat mainspring housings, long triggers, checkered slide stop and safety. Checkered wide hammer spur, and type 2 beveled proper rear sight. High polish blue finish with polished blond grips, Ivory in appearance. The left slide has a roll engraved battle scene, and the right has the WW! banner with "1917-1967, the 50th anniversary of entering the war. All gold toned. Left grip has Eagle medallion with "1917 1918, World War" with "2nd battle of the Marne" under it. Right grip was Doughboy medallion listed the Countries that fought in WW1. Lanyard ring in place. Bore is excellent/bright. Slide action is smooth/tight. Blued finish is about 99% with some minor scratches on the mainspring housing and frame. Grips are excellent. Comes with original Colt magazine, and original display shadow box, with battle scenes, and history of the battle. Note* There are the three other battle guns with the same serial number, with different initials of the battle. Would make a great set. NRA Condition-Excellent. C&R Firearm.
