Pistol. Semi-Automatic. Vintage Government Model. Manufactured 1917 during WW1 for Commercial sale. Short Recoil. Fed from 8-rd magazine. 5" barrel. Fixed iron sights. Frame mounted thumb and grip safety. Lanyard ring. One line Colt address/serial # on right frame. 'Government Model" on right slide over serial number. "Colt Automatic Calibre 45" on right slide. Government Model. "P H" marked barrel. I have seen another 1917 Government Model with the same barrel, so I'm not sure if this is correct. Standard Colt address/patent dates in two lines on left slide with Rampant Colt., Walnut "Diamond, checked grips. Grips atre very good with some minor scratches. Slide action is Crisp/Tight. Bore is good with strong rifling, but somewhat dirty. Blue is about 95%, with a scratches on the frame edge wear, and handling loss on the smooth mainspring housing. It's hard to tell but the fore strap may have been touched up. The markings are crisp/clear. This pistol has not seen much, if any use. A really nice conditioned Early Government Model, can't usually find them in this condition. Magazine included. Comes with two extra G.I. magazines. NRA Condition-Very Good to Excellent. Modern firearm.
