Pistol. Semi-Automatic. U.S. Military pistol manufactured the third year of WW2 in 1943. Magazine fed, short recoil. 5" Barrel. Slide mounted front blade and U-notch rear sights. Parkerized "Wartime" metal finish. Grip safety. Lanyard ring. Barrel stamped "Colt 45 Auto" , with "7". Right frame stamped , to the rear of the slide stop pin is "United States Property" with the serial number below it. "M1911A1 U.S. Army" is stamped to the front of pin. At the rear of the right frame is the crossed cannon Ordnance stamp. No serial number on the slide. Left side of frame is stamped with the 2-line patent dates, a "Rampant Colt", and Colts 2-line address. "P" is stamped in front of the rear sight, and below the magazine release button. "G.H.D inspectors stamp is present below the slide catch. (Col. Guy H. Drewry) Brown checkered plastic are reinforced , and appear original to the pistol. Bore is excellent/bright, but a little dirty. Slide action is smooth/tight. Metal finish is about 85% with edge wear, and some scratches. Also there are very slight initials scratched on the right side of the slide on each side of the ejection port. "DFR", and "BCG". Barely noticeable. Comes with original unmarked magazine marked C-S.
