Colt Model 1849 .31 cal. #200986
Single action percussion cap 'n' ball revolver manufactured circa 1862 (Civil War). Features 4" octagon barrel, loading lever, 5 shot unfluted cylinder with roll stamped stage coach scene, post front sight, rear sight notch on hammer nose, one piece walnut grip, brass back strap & round triggerguard. All observed numbers match. Markings are generally sharp, with good cylinder scene. Bore appears good or better. Pistol has been re-blued, with evidence of dents, light pitting under the blue, there is an area of newer pitting on the right barrel, and cylinder . Grips are good with some minor scratches, dents, and edge wear, some handling loss. Hammer does not cock, and there is no tension on the trigger, probably needs a new mainspring. There is a period inscription on the heel that reads "S.H. Lovell". NRA Condition-Fair as antique Firearm.
