Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolver, #244875, .38 Spec. CF cal., 7.5'' round barrel marked ''Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co. Hartford CT U.S.A.'' on top in one line, and ''Colt Single Action Army .38 Special'' along left side ahead of juncture with frame; 6-shot fluted cylinder stamped with a tiny ''D'' on its face and the ''Rampant Colt'' logo on rear, case hardened hammer and frame with the two-line ''1871-72-75'' patent dates adjacent to an encircled ''Rampant Colt'' on left side, hinged loading gate correctly batch marked ''6326'', blued steel straps and two-piece black checkered hard rubber grips having the ''Rampant Colt'' in an oval at top. Originally blued and case hardened finishes. Mfg'd 1903. Condition is excellent, retaining 85% factory blue to barrel and cylinder, as possibly later altered to .38 Special with genuine Colt replacement parts; cylinder with a light dragline; 10% original thinning blue to grip straps (mostly in protected areas); case hardening on frame has silvered out, hammer retains more colors.
