Colt Model 1873 Single Action Army Revolver, with russet leather holster, #209652, .45 Colt CF cal., blued 5.5'' barrel marked with the one-line Colt name and address; blued fluted 6-shot round cylinder marked ''361'' on front face and with ''Rampant Colt'' logo on rear; case hardened frame is marked with the two-line 1871-72-75 patent dates and an encircled Rampant Colt on left side; blued steel gripstraps; one-piece varnished walnut grips. Loading gate batch-marked ''847''. Mfg'd 1901. A composite gun: barrel with the early-style slanted address lettering flanked by crosses, frame and triggerguard with matching numbers, backstrap an unnumbered replacement. Grips perhaps from an earlier Colt. Condition is very good as assembled, the barrel with 40% blue that appears original, the cylinder with 75% blue, the frame retaining nice case colors on left side and silvering on right, the triggerguard with 65% blue (mainly missing on inside curve), the backstrap with 100% deep blue. Grips are smooth, unmarked and retaining approx. 70% varnish. Screw heads are unmarked and retain bright fire blue. Action is smooth and crisp; bore is brilliant with deep rifling. The suede-lined ''Mexican Loop'' holster by Safariland is excellent, with smooth, light coloration and full stitching. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
