Colt Model 1873 Single Action Cavalry Revolver, #13813, .45 LC cal., 7.5" barrel, originally with blue and color case hardened finish, walnut one-piece grips, standard blade front sight, and fixed U-shaped groove rear sight. The receiver has the two-line patent dates with "U.S." on the left and "13813" on the bottom. Loading gate is marked "123". Trigger guard and backstrap are numbered "13813" but has no inspector marks. Cylinder is numbered "3813" with "A" and "P". The mismatched barrel is marked "4252" with an "A" and "P", and the Colt address on top is in script. Due to the missing inspector stamps and mismatched barrel, the revolver may be an overrun that Colt sold commercially. Revolver is in good overall condition; metal is gray with areas of darkening. The unmarked grips are good and show handling wear with some shrinkage. The action locks up tight with three clicks; the loading position is not functioning properly. Bore and rifling are good but show some light erosion. Bullseye ejector rod has a replacement spring. Est.: $2,000-$3,000. (Antique)
