Colt Model 1911 U.S. Government Property marked .45 auto, #492621. The Goddard book, page #245 lists the pistol as shipped to the Brooklyn Naval Yard on November 5, 1918. In good condition with traces of original blue,some minor erosion and pitting by the left front of the muzzle. Good markings including an S-17 eagle proof on the left side of the frame above the magazine release and “27” on the trigger guard. No U.S. property on theframe with very good grips and a two-tone Colt clip. Sound mechanically with a good and shiny bore, some cleaning on the breech and the end of the barrel. Scratches partially obscure a small proof mark (H.P.)which is correct and this 1911 is as issued. Est.: $1,250-$2,500. (C+R/PPT).
