Colt Model 1917 U.S. Army Double Action Revolver, #66074, .45 ACP cal., 5.5'' barrel, brushed blue finish, smooth walnut grips, lanyard loop, with standard fixed sights. Top of barrel is marked in two lines with the maker's name and multiple patent dates, last patent date is ''July 4, 1905''; bottom of barrel is marked ''UNITED STATES PROPERTY''. Crane and frame with matching assembly numbers; backside of both grips are hand numbered but hard to read, does not appear to match any number that is on the revolver. Upper left side of frame with small eagle's head inspection stamp; marked on butt ''U.S. ARMY MODEL 1917''. Condition is very good retaining approx. 85% of the original brushed blue finish, with thinning and mild brown toning to the front and back strap, small spots of oxidation, factory lettering is clear. Grips with spots of oil darkening, moderate indentations; left grip with thinning to the finish along the bottom edge, small piece missing at the toe, and may have an old coat of added finish. Smooth action; bore is very good, rifling shows moderate wear. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
