Single action revolver manufactured circa 1896. Features blued finish, two piece ivory grips, 4-3/4" barrel. Bore is good condition, mostly fairly bright with strong rifling, some light pitting closer to the muzzle end. Charge holes are dark with even light roughness. Barrel retains 20% dark color bluing with large areas of brown or sliver color. Cylinder retains 40% dark color bluing with bare metal on all edges as well as locking notches. Case colors on frame are muted, some differing brown and light gray color. Trigger guard appear reblued, with losses to edge of numbers (match serial). Backstrap is mostly silver with crisp numbers matching serial. Grips are cracked, show streaks of darker colors, overall fair to good condition with small chip from right toe. Two line barrel address & "Frontier Six Shooter 44-40" markings are sharp and even depth. Action is smooth with fair to good lockup. Included Colt factory letter describes this revolver as 41LC (original as shipped caliber, indicates current 44-40 barrel and cylinder are later replacements), 4-3/4", blued, grip type "Not Listed".
