Colt Single Action Army Revolver, #338066, .32-20 cal., 4.75'' barrel, blue finish, case hardened hammer and frame, standard fixed sights, with an interesting pair of cast aluminum ''Rampant Colt'' and ''Steerhead'' grips. Top of barrel with two-line ''COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.'' address. Left side of frame with two-line patent dates and Rampant Colt, with additional letters and numbers stamped over the patent date. The only added mark that is legible is the number ''8''. Matching numbers can be found on the frame, left side underneath the grips, and the last two digits are visible on the back end of the cylinder. Mfg'd 1920. Condition is excellent as refinished and retimed. Consignor states that the work was done by Dan Horowitz, who was located in or around Laguna Niguel at the time. Approx. 97% blue and case colors remain. Metal shows a few minor scratches from handling. The added finish was applied over a few small nicks on the barrel. Metal is slightly dished where the caliber was previously located; only ''W.C.F.'' is still visible. Barrel address and patent dates are clear. Grips show moderate age and wear and make a nice addition to this revolver. Action is crisp; lightly peppered bore rates very good. Est.: $1,800-$2,400. (C&R/PPT)
