Colt U.S. Artillery Model SAA revolver, .45 caliber, 5.5” barrel, blued finish, smooth wood grips, S/N 114372 (frame number; 140247 trigger guard and backstrap), in overall good to very good condition displaying scatteredareas of original finish on cylinder, trigger guard and ejector housing, crisp action, good markings and good bore; grips are good overall with no visible inspector cartouches. Accompanied by a Colt factory letterindicating sale to U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant on January 21, 1885, one hundred guns in order. (Antique). Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
