Composite DWM 1920 Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #5380l, 9mm cal., 4'' period replacement barrel, blued finish, straw colored small parts, checkered walnut grips, inverted-"V" front sight, and fixed rear sight with ''V''-notched groove. Includes one blued steel magazine with aluminum base. Magazine base is numbered "72q" with (stick eagle)/63 proof. Pistol is marked ''DWM'' on the toggle. Right side of receiver is marked 'GERMANY''. Upper safety position is marked ''GESICHERT'', lower position is blank. Underside of the replacement barrel with small number "42"; top with partially legible "(eagle)/655" proof. Barrel, sear bar, grips, and firing pin are numbered but do not match. Other visible numbers are matching. Pistol is in good overall condition, retaining approx. 80%-85% blue. Barrel has some areas of pitting that have been cleaned, leaving the finish with a more polished look. Balance shows moderate edge wear, salt and pepper blemishes, with thinning and patina to the backstrap/stock lug. Additionally, there are small impressions and wear to both sides of the receiver, near the front edge. There are no visible commercial proofs on this pistol, remaining numbers and proofs are legible. Small parts retain approx. 70% thinning and toning straw colors. Grips display signs of moderate age and handling wear, with smoothing of the checkering detail. Action operates smoothly, but the hold open does not work with this magazine.Bore is primarily bright but there are a few spots of mild pitting and frosting at the mid-point; rifling is well-defined. Magazine shows moderate age and finish wear to the body. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
