Composite Mauser S/42 1938 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, #607f, 9mm cal., 4'' barrel, blue finish, straw colored small parts, checkered walnut grips, inverted-"V" front sight, fixed rear sight with small "V"-notched groove, with stock lug, no grip safety. Includes one mis-matched blued steel magazine with aluminum base, numbered ''407l'' with ''(eagle)63'' proof on the base. Pistol is marked ''S/42'' on toggle link with ''1938'' date on top of chamber. Right side of receiver with two ''(eagle)63'' proofs and 2nd variation firing proof. Parts with visible numbers are matching, excluding the magazine; barrel is not numbered. Back of each grip with matching "07" as well as "(Eagle/655)" on back of the left panel. Pistol is in excellent overall condition as professionally refinished, retaining approx. 98% reblued finish and straw colors. Serial number on left front of the receiver and firing proof on right front are a little light. Other factory markings and numbers are crisp and it should be assumed that at least some have been remarked. Grips show moderate signs of age and handling wear, with scattered flat spots to the checkering detail. Toggle and hold open function properly; trigger works intermittently. Bore rates near excellent overall and is bright throughout with well-defined rifling. Magazine finish is original and shows moderate wear. Est.: $1,000-$1,400. (C&R)
