this set of crockett spurs reflects the legacy of one of america's most respected makers of western riding equipment. Faintly marked "crockett" on the outside of the heel band beneath the button, these spurs are attributed to the crockett bit & spur company founded by oscar crockett in kansas city in the early 20th century. The company later expanded to lenexa, kansas and ultimately boulder, colorado, becoming one of the largest and most influential spur and bit manufacturers of its time, known for blending durable construction with distinctive western styling. the spurs feature classic steel construction along with floral-tooled leather straps that complement the traditional cowboy aesthetic. The buckles are marked "cmc", and the left spur's adjustment strap is stamped with the number "4". The rowels are multi-point star types and remain intact, while the leather straps show hand-tooled detail with floral motifs. The overall design is functional and period-correct, suitable for display or continued use within a western collection. condition shows moderate, honest wear from use and age. The steel exhibits visible pitting, oxidation, and a naturally developed patina throughout, consistent with working spurs. The leather straps show wear and handling marks but remain intact and serviceable. This is a well-used but authentic set of crockett spurs that retains strong character and historical appeal tied to early american western craftsmanship.
