GAMEGUN RETAILED BY ABERCROMBIE AND FITCH. Cal. 28 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 3035. The 26" monobloc bbls. are fitted w/ narrow matted ventilated rib mounted with two white beads. Left side of monobloc is marked "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH" "MADE IN ITALY". Bottom of monobloc is stamped with 1964 Italian Nitro proofs. Coin finished low profile small O/U double Kirsten boxlock action with ornamental sideplates features automatic safety and single nonselective trigger. Action and ornamental sideplates are engraved with large acanthus scroll with floral highlights within punched star and line borders. Blued trigger guard with open scroll on bow has serial number on tang. Round knob buttstock of relatively plain European walnut measures 14 1/8" over checkered plastic buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a vacant gold oval is on toeline. Matching slim one piece forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .561" L .562" . Restriction: R .012" (MOD), L .004" (IC). Min. Wall Thickness: R .026", L .028". STOCK: DAH: 2". DAC: 1 3/8". LOP: 14 1/8". CAST: approx. 1/4" on. WEIGHT: 4 lb. 12 oz. CONDITION: fine to very fine, bbls. retaining about 80% original blue. Action retains most of its coin finish, but shows darkening at rear of right sideplate and around bottom. Thumbpiece is silvered and trigger guard retains about 80% of its original blue, worn at front of bow and thinning on tang. Stocks retain over 80% of their original varnish finish with a good scattering of light marks and one or two heavier dings, mostly on left side of butt. Checkering shows very light wear. There are two oval panels inlet behind lockplates and it appears they are part of a repair to a crack that runs through wrist. Wood finish has been nicely spotted in but the area remains a little lighter than the surrounding wood. Bores are bright and shiny. Action is tight. Trigger appears to work well. (22-5268/MGM).
