DESIRABLE GROUP OF WWII ERA BAYONETS.
1) JOHNSON MODEL 1941. 1 7/8" Triangular spike blade, muzzle ring is marked w/ "2908". Handle/mount is marked inside "A", 61044". Spring retaining catch. Unmarked leather scabbard w/ retaining strap. CONDITION: all metal bayonet has wear, turning overall gray & patina. Scabbard has wear and staining. Stitching is tight.
2) RUSSIAN MODEL 1940 TOKAREV. 9 1/2" Fullered spear point blade marked on right ricasso w/ sm. star & 2 tine acceptance marks. Straight crossguard. Smooth hardwood grips. Left grip marked w/ S#. Birdshead pommel w/ unusual guarded catch. Blue steel scabbard w/ leather belt loop. CONDITION: bright blade has light wear, balance of metal turned gray & patina. Grips have light wear & staining. Scabbard has worn original blue w/ scattered handling marks.
3) RUSSIAN MODEL 91-30. Quadrangular 17" blade w/ screwdriver tip. Arrow in triangle on left side indicates mfg. at Izhevsk Arsenal. CONDITION: bayonet retains lg. percentage of arsenal rework finish.
4) GERMAN K98. 9 7/8" Unsharpened fullered steel blade, marked on left ricasso "41 crs", right ricasso "1446 C". Composite ribbed grips. Pommel marked w/ two illegible "eagle" acceptance marks. Flash guard is present. Steel scabbard. Leather frog marked w/ boxed "KVZ", "1943". CONDITION: blade retains 60% original worn blue. Balance of worn metal is gray & patina. Flash guard has notable dents. Scabbard has oxidation and patina. Frog has considerable wear, scuffing and tear at attachment hole.
5) GERMAN K98. 9 1/4" Fullered blade, sharpened & modified by shortening at tip. Marked on left ricasso " 42 cof." Right ricasso has S#. Composite grips. Flash guard is present. Pommel marked w/ eagle "s", "WaA 518" & "51". Non matching steel scabbard. Unmarked leather frog. CONDITION: blade is blue, turnning patina. Balance of metal has wear, turning gray & patina. Scabbard has overall worn patina. Frog has wear & scuffing but appears serviceable.
6) JAPANESE TYPE 30 TRAINING BAYONET. 15 1/8" Fullered blade, made w/ a curved quillon. Smooth hardwood grips. Steel scabbard marked in white "7". Dbl. strap leather frog.CONDITION: bright blade w/ oxidation, balance of metal has wear w/ patina. Scabbard turning dark patina w/ wear & pitting.
7) JAPANESE TYPE 30 LATE WAR. 15 1/2" Fullered blued blade has been sharpened prior to bluing. Marked on right ricasso w/ Toyada Jidoshoki Seisakusho Arsenal symbol. Straight crossguard. Smooth hardwood grips. Straight pommel. Steel scabbard w/ repro leather frog. CONDITION: blade has thinnning blue, balance of metal turning gray & patina. Dark green painted scabbard has wear & flaking. Frog is very good.
8) JAPANESE SCABBARD. Steel scabbard is unmarked, 8 1/4" long & equipped w/ repro dbl. strap frog. CONDITION: both in good condition w/ light wear. PROVENANCE: from the estate collections of Charles P. Obremski. (02-16641-1/RW). $500-700.
