BOLT ACTION MILITARY RIFLE W/ BRITISH CAPTURE MARKINGS & PROPERTY DISK. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 7600g. All visible numbers match. Bbl. 23 5/8". This rifle was mfg. in 1937 w/ early markings & dark walnut stock. Receiver ring marked on top w/ "S/42", "1937". Right side of ring marked w/ 3 droop wing eagles "63". Left side of receiver ring & bbl. w/ droop wing eagle proofs. Left receiver rail marked w/ "Mod.98". Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000m. Inverted V front sight w/ protective hood. Bayonet bar & cleaning rod are present. Milled trigger guard & floorplate have spread eagle "WaA 63" inspection marks. Correct period German leather sling. Flat type buttplate. Steel disassembly disk. Walnut stock & handguard. Buttstock marked on right side w/ spread wing eagle. Partial droop wing eagle "63" & "AA" over broad arrow British capture marking. Stock also has silver colored disk retained by brass screw marked "MP 102". Stock marked at belly w/ S# & "K" indicating stock mfg. for short rifle. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: blued steel stamped muzzle cover & sight protector. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear, staining & handling marks throughout. Buttstock has sm. transverse area of filled wood on right side of receiver tang. Metal has 50% original worn thinning blue turning gray w/ scattered handling marks. Very good shiny bore. (22-650/RW).
