2 BARREL SET GAME GUN. Cal. 28 Ga. S# 28-01262. 2 Sets of 26" bbls. w/ concave matted ribs have matching S#s & Parker reproduction by Winchester info on sides of left bbls. Bbl. flats stamped w/ Parker reproduction proofs, S#s & chokes. Lumps are stamped w/ grade & chamber information on sides. Central portion of bottom sections stamped 1 & 2 denoting chokes, set 1 being modified & full, set 2 improved cyl. & modified. Sm. sized cased hardened action has milling cuts in water table as normally found on 00 frames. Action features automatic safety & single selective trigger. Action engraved in typical late Remington "D" grade style w/ 80% coverage varying sized scroll surrounding vignettes of dogs w/out borders. Setter on left & pointer on right. "PARKER" is on bottom of action & 3 pheasant are on trigger plate. Blued trigger guard w/ scroll on bow has partial S# on tang. Straight grip buttstock of strikingly figured & well marbled European walnut measures 14 1/4" over blued skeleton buttplate. Stock features usual lozenge-shaped drop points, point pattern checkering & gold oval. Matching beavertail ejector forend services both bbl. sets. Latch is deeply recessed, allowing splinter forend w/ correct matching S# to be interchanged. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: LOP: 14 1/4". DAC: 1 3/8". DAH: 2 1/4". Cast: 0. WEIGHT: 5 lb. 11 oz. w/ beavertail forend. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: housed in tan leather case w/ leather corners protected by tan canvas leather trimmed outer cover w/ zippered closure. Interior of case is lined in green felt & has Parker Reproduction label in lid. Bottom compartment has space for gun & both bbl. sets. Case contains a pair of Parker marked snap caps & oil bottle along w/ 2 keys. CONDITION: very fine, showing evidence of very light field use & retaining nearly all original finishes, except for the very fragile case hardening color on action, which is at about 90%; silvered on bottom from normal hand wear. There are a few very light marks in wood finish, mostly on bottom of buttstock w/ a series of sm. marks near gold oval. Bright shiny bores. Mechanically excellent. Case leather is very fine as protected by its outer cover, which has some minor soiling. Interior cloth is also very fine w/ some minor compressions. These guns are very popular & getting hard to find. (21-287/MGM). MODERN. $6,000-8,000.
