Cal. 45 ACP. S# 727659. Bbl. correct 5" Colt Type 6 with "G" in front of legs. Shipped on April 30, 1941 to Springfield Armory as part of 2,500 unit shipment. Only item not correct on the pistol according to J. C. Harrison's reference book on US Pistols and Revolvers is that the grips should be fully checkered walnut or Coltrock but are similar appearing Coltwood having mold number on backs as used from serial number 785000 to 795000. All other feature are correct for model including matching numbered slide and brushed blue finish. Boxed "R.S." inspection mark is additionally on top of frame by disconnector along with "G". Appears to have belonged to Bruno G. DelMissier who was an Air Force Silver Star recipient of WW-II and Korean War. Billion Graves research yields born 1914 and died 1965 having middle initial of C on grave stone yet search was done with middle initial of G. MAGS: 3 good 7 rd. without lanyard loops TOTAL; 1942 vintage Colt all blue with pinned parkerized base marked "COLT 45 AUTO.", WW-I M. S. Little 2 tone and WW-II style with Colt pattern yet 2 toned. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good "Hoyt 1918 J.J.M." marked flap holster with "US" in oval on front. Bottom front has inked "DelMissier" along with a very faint "L. C." believed to represent Lt. Col. Web belt marked "R.M.CO." and dated 1941 with canvas dual mag. pouch marked "L.C.C.&CO.1918". Colt factory letter substantiating previously stated pistol info & manufactured April 4, 1941. CONDITION: very good plus overall condition having some high point holster wear. Correct checkered mainspring housing with different tone of finish. Barrel exterior and internals of the pistol show very minimal use with near excellent bore and grips. A historic collector quality pistol. (22-4746/NW). CURIO. $4,000-5,500.
