Cal. 16 Ga., 2 1/2" x 16 Ga., 2 1/2" x 8x57JR (318 groove dia). S# 17844. (1935). Bbls. 25 5/8" fitted w/ full length matted rib holding pop up blue enameled rifle sight & claw scope bases. Bbl. flats stamped w/ Suhl nitro proofs w/ date code "11/35". Black anodized Dural (aluminum) action features side safety, tang mounted rifle selector, pin type cocking indicators either side of top lever, bushed strikers, side clips, crossbolt third fastener & dbl. triggers (front set). Action engraved w/ 70% coverage varying sized scroll w/in scroll & geometric borders. Trigger guard is of horn. Well marbled European walnut sunburst horn capped pistol grip buttstock measures 13 3/4" over ribbed horn buttplate. Stock features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, carved side panels & point pattern checkering at grip. A sling loop on toeline matches that soldered to bottom bbl. Matching schnabeled splinter forend has Deeley release. Bore diameter: left - .674, restriction: .041 (extra full), right - .675, restriction: .029 (IMod). Minimum wall thickness: left - .024, right - .023. DAH: 2 9/16". DAC: 1 9/16". WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: fine. Bbls. retain 85"90% original blue. Action has most of its black anodize, considerably faded, along w/ some scratches. Stock retains most of what appears to be its original finish w/ marks & scratches. Checkering at grip poorly recut & there is some evidence of repair. Forend checkering shows some rubs, dings & a bit of wear. Bores are fine to very fine w/ a few minor dings. Rifle bore is sharp & shiny. Action is tight. A good quality lightweight Drilling. (20-667/MGM53). CURIO. $1,500-2,500.
