DWM 1906 Navy 'Second Issue' 9mm SN: 6403a
'Luger' Altered Imperial German Navy contact toggle-locked recoil operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Parabellum, manufactured circa 1906-1907. Features a blued refinish with straw colored small parts, replaced 6" heavy taper barrel, dovetailed patridge front sight, fully-adjustable Micro rear sight, smooth crescent trigger, knurled charging knobs on the rear toggle link, manual safety of the left side of the frame w/ “GESICHERT” upper marking & ‘faced off’ lower marking, grip safety, knurled push button magazine release, 8 round magazine with synthetic base, steel frame with lanyard loop & shaved stock lug, and finely checkered wood grips. Matching serial numbers have been observed on the frame, barrel extension, front toggle link, lock bolt, side plate, trigger and grip safety. Some parts could not be examined due to the rear toggle link connecting pin being unable to be removed. Other Markings: Frame – “W W/2192” from the Wilhelmshaven Dockyard. Receiver – German Navy receiver proofs. Front Toggle Link – Script “DWM”. & Magazine – “fxo”, “P.08” & [eagle]/”37” stamped twice. Pistol retains approximately 90% of its blued refinish showing edge wear, finish loss on the rear toggle link, some old pin prick pitting under the finish and a small amount of scattered light surface rust. Action is crisp, the bore is excellent and the wood grips are good+ with semi-worn points & typical chip on the top right corner of the left panel. Includes the original rear toggle link with altered sight.
