Danish Model 1867 Rolling Block Breechloading Infantry Rifle, by Copenhagen Arsenal, #57870, .45-70 CF cal., 35.25" round barrel with wide dovetailed blade front and 3.5" folding-leaf rear sight, marked "45-70", serial number, "(crown)" at left breech, "(crown)" at top, with 3.9" bayonet lug at right; large No. 1 size receiver with auto-extraction is marked with a Birmingham proof and "M-1867" at left, "Kjobenhavns Toihuus 1880" at top tang. Oil-finshed walnut forestock has 3 spring-retained bands (middle with swivel), nosecap, slotted/grooved ramrod, matching buttstock a curved buttplate with "(crown)" mark at top, .625" circular brass inventory disc at right, swivel at belly. Mfg'd under license to Remington. Condition is good showing smooth bright metal with sharp edges and markings. Stocks are sound and smooth with minimal marks (forend with shallow scrapes left/right near frame). Action is crisp, bright bore shows overall light frosting and sharp rifling. Est.: $700-$900.
