Sporterized German military bolt-action rifle chambered for .22-250 ammunition, and importer markings were not found. This has a Mauser style action, and the receiver ring is dated 1916. Rifle features a blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic mounting, an approximately 24-1/4" bull barrel with a recessed crown, no provisions for iron sights, manual three position flag type safety, turned down bolt handle, in-the-white bolt handle and body, serrated curved trigger shoe, left receiver rail mounted bolt release, milled trigger guard, and stripper clip guides cut into the receiver. The hardwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped Monte Carlo style shoulder stock with checkering at the wrist, right hand cheek piece, smooth flat forend with a sling stud hole, black forend tip, and a serrated aluminum adjustable butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 98% with minor edge wear, thinning on the trigger guard, and a few light handling blemishes. Metal displays rust and slight deformation in one of the screw slots. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The furniture wood is in very good condition with minor handling marks, and a small spot of a resinous substance behind the trigger guard. Too much of this rifle has been replaced for C&R status, and the rifle would be rated as very good if it were not for the observed small instance of rust.
Condition is NRA Good
