This is a desirable example of a DWM Model 1906 Navy Luger that was manufactured by the DWM factory and subsequently re-issued /refurbished for the Imperial German Navy. These Model 1906 Naval Luger has been labeled by collectors as a first issue altered Luger as it has had the "GESICHERT" safety markings recut in the upper position of the frame. The rear grip strap is stamped: "W.K./1489/naval anchor" indicating reissue from the naval arsenal/dockyard at Kiel, probably where the modification was performed. It also has the early grip safety feature as produced by the DWM factory. This Luger has correct 6" length navy barrel with the two-position rear sight. Undated chamber area, with the DWM marked front toggle. The barrel extension has the double "Crown/M" naval proof with a single "Crown/N" firing proof which is also on the barrel side. Standard military serial number placement with all matching numbers to include a polished steel magazine with a navy type wooden base with concentric circles on the ends. The wooden base is stamped "7025".
