German made semi-automatic striker-fired blowback operated pistol chambered for 6.35mm (.25 Automatic Colt Pistol), and there are no importation marks. The Deutsche Werke Ortgies pistols were designed by German gunsmith Carl August Brauning, and approximately 400,000 were produced from 1919 until 1923. Pistol features a blued finish on a forged and machined construction, rear slide cocking serrations, an approximately 2-3/4" barrel, low-profile fixed round blade front sight integral to the slide, fixed low-profile 'U' notched rear sight integral to the slide, solid smooth curved trigger, serrated heel mounted magazine release, smooth grip straps, smooth grip safety, annular cut grip safety release, and two-piece smooth hardwood grips with gold-toned Ortgies medallions on both panels. The original blued finish retained is approximately 25% with some edge wear, and the finish taking on a dark gray/brown patina. Metal displays no deformation, but there are a few areas of light oxidation. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore shows strong rifling, but appears to be dirty. The grip wood is in good condition with handling blemishes, and some chipping on the left grip panel. The grips fit a little loose.
Condition is NRA Fair.
