Dutch D.V.F Marked Belgian Double Action Revolver, #206, 9.4mm cal., 3.5"octagonal barrel, blued finish, checkered hardwood grips, dovetailed blade front sight, and grooved rear sight with "U"-notch. A lanyard loop is mounted to the bottom of the grip frame, and swiveling safety lever is attached to the left side of the frame. Barrel is retailer marked "NED. WAPENMAGAZIJN" on right side, "ACIERFONDU" (Cast Steel) on top, and "V./ H.S. DE JAGER DEN HAAG" on left side. Top of the frame is stamped "D.V.F/1922", which is believed to be for Department of Finance, and this revolver may have been issued to custom/treasury inspector. There are Belgian proof and inspection stamps on the cylinder. Revolver is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 75%-80% blue, showing areas of thinning and patina. Wear to the trigger guard, front and backstrap accounts for most of the finish loss; grip straps with scattered moderate pitting. Grips are good, showing age and wear, with handling marks and some smoothing of the checkering; particularly on the right panel. Action cycles smoothly. Rifling is well-defined and rates very good but the bore has scattered spots of visible light erosion; heavier near the muzzle. Est.: $300-$500. (C&R)
