EARLY BRNO ZKW465, THE SIXTH ONE MADE W/ SCOPE.

Cal. 22 Hornet. S# 00116 (the Blue Book indicates that the first rifle made in this series is numbered 00111). The early actions are distinguished by their exceptional machining, the major visible difference being that the receiver ring & bridge have transverse dovetails for scope mounting, versus the later longitudinal type. There are also extra milling cuts across the bridge. Brno markings are on left sidewall. Right side of bridge is marked "MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA". Action uses normal detachable mag. & is fitted w/ dbl. set triggers. Bolt w/ matching number has turned down handle w/ hollow knob. The 22 1/2" bbl. has boss for rear sight & sleeved on front ramp w/ silver bead. Pistol grip stock of lightly figured European walnut measures 13 7/8" over "CZ" marked hard rubber buttplate & features Schnabel tip, handcut point pattern checkering & sling swivels. Rifle is mounted w/ Lyman Alaskan all-weather 2 1/2 power "Varmint Master" scope w/ cross hair & post reticle in Redfield style mounts, fitted to blank slot infills. Front mount utilizes bbl. sight dovetail. CONDITION: very fine. Metal parts retaining over 95% original blue w/ some high edge wear. Wood retains nearly all of its original oil finish w/ a few scratches. Bore is bright & shiny w/ sharp rifling throughout. Mechanically good. Bolt handle appears to have been ground to clear rear ocular portion of scope and has been reblued. (22-1892/MGM). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
