Cal. 16 Ga. 2 9/16". S# 427370 (1926). The 28" bbls. w/ matted concave rib are marked "SMOKELESS POWDER STEEL" & "MADE IN U.S.A.". Bbl. flats are stamped w/ S# & choke markings "2" & "4". Case hardened action w/ cocking indicators has S#, grade & ga. numbers on water table along w/ "PATENT APPLIED FOR". Action also features automatic safety & dbl. triggers. Action is roll engraved w/ pointing dog on each side over "Ithaca Gun Co. Ithaca N.Y.". Capped pistol grip buttstock of somewhat figured American walnut measures 14 3/4" over brown "Decelerator" pad. Widely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter forend has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .661", L .662". Restriction: R .014" (LIGHT MOD), L .022" (MOD). Min. Wall Thickness: R .036", L .039". STOCK: DAH: 2 5/8". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 3/4". CAST: Neutral. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 9 oz. CONDITION: good as partially refinished. Bbls. retaining nearly all of a shiny immersion blue finish w/ evidence of lost solder at muzzles & top rib is loose from approx 3" in front of breech to 14". There are auxillary weep holes in bottom of rib & splinter & an extra screw is installed in bottom rib at muzzle. Action retains over 60% original case hardening color. Stocks retain traces of their original finish taken down w/ steel wool & w/ some added oil. Checkering somewhat worn. Bores are shiny. Action is tight. Forend is loose on bbls. (22-138/MGM).
