HEAVY GAME GUN WITH GAME SCENE ENGRAVING. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 84346. 27 5/8" Chopperlump bbls. with matted game rib are engraved w/ maker's name and address on tops. There are 1" triangles of scroll engraving at breech ends. Bbl. flats are stamped w/ 1945 Spanish Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. A sling loop is screwed to bottom rib. Coin finished sidelock action features automatic safety, hidden third fastener, bushed strikers, gold line tumbler end cocking indicators and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved w/ sm. scroll w/ rose bouquet highlights surrounding scene of eagle making off w/ lamb on bottom. Sideplates are fully engraved with game scenes depicting a pair of pointers and pheasant on left lock with a pair of setters watching four grouse depart on right. Portrait of a spaniel retrieving a rabbit is on trigger guard bow. Well marbled European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 1/2" over brown open sided pad. Stock features drop points, closely spaced point pattern grip checkering and a sling loop. Matching splinter ejector forend w/ Anson release has interesting switch to deactivate ejectors. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: R .725", L .727". Restriction: R . 017" (MOD), L .035" (FULL). Min. Wall Thickness: R .029", L .026". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/8". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 1/2". CAST: approx. 1/2" on. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 15 oz. CONDITION: good as refinished. There are only a few marks in new blue of bbls. Engraving is soft. Action cleaned to coin finish. Stocks with nearly all shiny oil refinish., checkering recut. Bores are shiny with evidence of cleaning over light pitting throughout. Action is tight. Ejectors are in time.
