WITH CUSTOM BOTTOM METAL AND DOCTER SCOPE. Cal. 300 H&H. S# 101897. (1948). Bbl. 26" standard weight fitted w/ flip up rear sight in boss & gold bead front. Cloverleaf tang action made for the long .300 H&H cartridge fitted w/ a Griffin & Howe side mt. holding a 3 " 10 X Docter scope made in Germany in aluminum G&H slide. Custom steel bottom metal w/ hinged floorplate is retained by button in trigger guard bow. Original stock of lightly figured American walnut measures 13 5/8" over checkered steel buttplate. Usual checkering is at grip & forend. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: plastic bag w/ original swivels, Lyman 57 receiver sight base & QD levers for G&H side mt. CONDITION: good to fine, as partially refinished. Bbl. & action retain most of what appear to be original blue. Bottom metal has nearly all of its blue. Stock refinished w/ light marks. Checkering somewhat worn. Bright, shiny bore. Scope is excellent w/ a few light marks in exterior lacquer. Optically clear. Bolt handle has been ground away to clear lg. adj. turret on retailed scope. This scope, now discontinued, would retail for over $1,000.00. (20-623/MGM140). CURIO. $700-1,000.
