REVOLVER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 9992SA. Bbl. 5 1/2". Second Generation Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1957. Left side of bbl. is marked "COLT SINGLE ARMY .38 SPECIAL" with Colt's single line address across the top. Left side of frame is stamped w/ patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Case color hardened frame having blued trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl, bbl. and ejector rod housing. Frame is mounted w/ 2-piece aftermarket stag grips. Standard blade front sight& frame notched rear sight. Matching S# "9992SA" is present on the underside of the frame as well as on the left side of the trigger guard & rear grip strap. Matching assembly # "855" is present on the rear of the frame, loading gate, as well as on the front face of the cyl. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked soft case. CONDITION: frame retains the majority of its original vibrant case & light surface oxidation. Blued components exhibit areas of wear & thinning that show through to gray patina having scattered handling marks overall. Grip straps exhibit wear through to gray patina with mild to moderate surface oxidation. Very bright bore, exhibiting a lg. area of dark pitting towards the center of the bbl. while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Action functions & indexes appropriately when cycled by hand. Grips exhibit a few superficial marks from handling & storage, but otherwise remain sturdy & serviceable. (24-1933/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
