EARLY WESTERN HORSE BRIDLE, BIT, REINS &

ASSOCIATED MARTINGALE. This early group of horse tack includes a bridle that appears to be made of woven horse hair. The body of the bridle is brown mixed w/ white & ends in 4" horse hair tassels. There are 2 lg. embellished, silver conchos at the top & 5 smaller silver conchos on the leather strap leading to the bit. The bit is a Mexican ring style bit & has the original reins attached to the front. Included w/ this attractive bridle is a fancy martingale w/ 3 lg. 2 1/2" star bosses surrounded by scores & scores of brass tacks. The top has 2 lg. plated brass buckles & the base has a single iron buckle. CONDITION: horse hair remains reasonably supple & colors are strong. Leather is a bit dry & stiff but still complete. All conchos are undamaged. Some domed brass tacks have dents. (02-15338/BF). $500-1,000.
