MILITARY CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 147282. Bbl. 18". Bbl. marked behind front sight w/ "UNDERWOOD 7 43" "flaming bomb". Markings enhanced in white. Bayonet lug & bbl. band marked "KI". Flip type aperture rear sight. Blade front sight w/ protective ears marked "EU". Straight cut slide marked "SG". Flat bolt marked "N" "14". Milled trigger housing marked "INLAND". Push button safety. Mag. catch marked "WA". Straight cut hammer marked "I-I". I-cut low wood walnut buttstock marked in sling slot "RMC" "flaming bomb". Unmarked 4 rivet handguard. Green web sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 2 pocket mag. pouch marked "U.S." Marked on back "J.S. & S. CO." "1943". CONDITION: stock set has good appearance w/ arsenal rework finish & slight loss of wood at inletted areas notably at buttplate. Stock has brass pinned repair on right side behind trigger guard & 3 brass pins on lower left side of forend ahead of mag. well. These pins were apparently inserted to address the issue of sm. cracks. Handguard has sm. crack at left forward end. Metal has fading original parkerized finish w/ light wear & handling marks. Receiver has notably less finish than bbl. Bore is shiny w/ strong, sharp rifling. (22-311/RW). CURIO. $400-700.
