DOUBLE RIFE WITH SCOPE. Cal. 9.3x74R. S# 11170. (CA 1982). The 23 5/8" dovetailed barrels are fitted with quarter rib holding one standing, two folding leaf rear sight and claw scope bases. Short front ramp holds gold bead. Tops of barrels are marked with maker's name, importer, caliber, model and "Made in Belgium". Barrel flats are stamped with 1982 Belgian nitro proofs, a sling loop is screwed to bottom rib. Small, coin finished boxlock action features non automatic safety, sliding third fastener, bushed strikers and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with very well cut attractive shaded acanthus scroll which surrounds well detailed scenes of American big game; with pair of pronghorn on left side, grizzly bear on right and elk standing in open meadow on bottom. Engraver's signature "J. Vielvoye" is on trigger plate. Matching trigger guard has tang which extends to steel grip cap with trap (trap contains spare front sight). Lightly marbled European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 15 1/2" over black Decelerator pad and features shadow line right hand cheek piece, point pattern checkering, sling loop and silver oval. Matching small semi beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: approx 2 5/8". DAC: 1 1/2". CAST: neutral. LOP: 15 1/2". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 12 oz. Rifle is fitted with older Swarovski 1.5X scope with crosshair and post reticle in claw mounts (rear with windage adjustment). CONDTION: very fine, retaining 95% of all maker applied finishes on wood and metal, with some light scratches and bumps in wood. Bores are bright and shiny, mechanically fine. Scope is good with some scratches, optically clear. (22-5813/MGM). MODERN. $5,000-8,000.
