American watercolor of Theodore Roosevelt in his hunting camp located at Munsungan Lake, Maine and signed M.E. Donnell circa 1901-1909. The painting shows Roosevelt in camp with rifle and game along with cabins, canoe, and friends. Large binder of research documents this Maine location and pictures the cabins. The 30” x 38” in period oak frame. The image is in good condition with minor natural age and colors that are still vibrant. The frame shows minor damage and small loses. The cabin shows American flag flying indicating the President was in attendance. Purchased by Eric Vaule from noted New England dealer in 1995 and never offered for sale.
