UNUSUAL MODEL 32 TYPE BOLTING SYSTEM BY A. FORGERON. Cal. 12 ga 2 3/4". S# 9041. The 28 3/8" monobloc bbls. fitted with narrow matted solid rib are engraved "A. Forgeron Liege" "Fait Pour Goutagneux Tolose" on left side of rib. Monobloc and bbls. are stamped with 1935 Belgian Nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Bottom of monobloc is stamped "PYRO" in oval. Coin finished low profile O/U action has bbl. carrier and rotating trunnions similar to the Boss action. Bbls. lift out vertically. Action bolts with top slide which enshrouds top rear of barrels in Remington Model 32 / Krieghoff fashion. Action also features automatic safety ("S" inlaid in gold), raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators, and double triggers (front articulated). Action is engraved with exceptionally well cut sprays of oak leaves and acorns at top of sides and with varying size shaded scroll on lower portion and around bottom. This fine engraving surrounds a game scene on bottom of action and triggerplate depicting a group of five mallards rising from a marsh. Lockplates are engraved with more scroll surrounding large central rose bouquet with two others flanking at front and rear. The portrait of a hound is on top locking slide. Straight grip buttstock with slight swan neck measures 14 1/8" over checkered wood butt, closely spaced point pattern checkering is at grip. One piece ejector forend has Deeley release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: T .725", B .726". Restriction: T .036", B .008" (IC). Min. Wall Thickness: T .026", B .022". STOCK: DAH: 2 3/8". DAC: 1 1/2". LOP: 14 1/8". CAST: approx. 1/2" off. WEIGHT: 6 lb. 14 oz. CONDITION: very fine. Bbls. retain most of what appears to be their original black, but is most likely a very good quality reblack. Action retains nearly all of its original coin finish with little evidence of cleaning, engraving all remains sharp and clear. Screw slots show some use. Stocks retain most of what appears to be their original rubbed oil finish. With many light marks and dings. Checkering is lightly worn. Bores are shiny. There is some scattered pitting toward breech end of bottom barrel and some light frosting throughout both tubes. Forcing cones lengthened. Action is tight. Ejectors are strong and in time.
