DELUXE TAKEDOWN LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 12695. The model 1894 Winchester is considered one of the most successful and popular sporting rifles of all time with over 7 million produced to date. This particular rifle was manufactured with a multitude of special order features. Research indicates that only 155 Model 1894 Winchesters left the factory with case hardened frames. Additionally only 16 of those case hardened guns were manufactured with round matted barrels. Bbl. 26" round with rare matted top. Bead front sight with express rear sight. Full length takedown mag. Receiver & lever are color case hardened. Forearm & hard rubber capped pistol XXX fancy walnut stock feature style "H" checkering, Winchester sling eyes & replacement Winchester checkered steel butt plate. Left inside of lower tang is marked with assembly number & wood grade markings "2571 SXXX R30".Top tang channel of stock has corresponding marking "2571 T 94". UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Cody Firearms Museum letter listing the following. CONDITION: bbl. & mag tube retain over 90% bright original blue showing slight edge wear with small areas of fading on tube, tube band & receiver extension. Receiver & lever feature areas of highly visible case colors on sides blending with areas fading to a silvery patina. Wood has very good finish & checkering showing scattered scratches & marks with a very small chip left of top tang. Bright bore retains strong rifling.
