BARREL SET MFG. 1979. Cal. 12 Ga. S# 27146. Bbls: Set 1: 27 7/8". Set 2: 29 3/4". Both sets have 2 3/4" chambers. This exact gun built by Arrieta in 1979 to be used for promotional purposes in their catalog & exhibits the highest degree of finish the company produced at that time. Both bbl. sets w/ raised matted ribs w/ sm. brass front beads& burst of scroll at breech ends w/ gold inlaid "1" & "2". Top of left bbl. tube engraved "FCA DE ESCOPETAS ARRIETA ELGOIBAR(ESPANA)". Sm. ring of engraving near breech. Bbls. of chopper lump construction w/ SN & proof markings on flats. Slim beavertail forend checkered in point pattern w/ engraved iron & Anson type button release. Water table w/ SN & sm. import mark as well as makers proof. The coin finished action w/ beaded fences is full coverage engraved w/ very deep relief Goddess of the Hunt scene on left & Orion (male Greek God of the Hunt) on right. Bottom of action w/ lg. stag & two does in relief at front & floral scroll throughout & also has carved butterflies on bottom. Gun made w/ dbl. triggers (front trigger is articulated), auto ejectors, easy opener, automatic safety. Blued top lever engraved as is top tang in floral scroll pattern w/ "ZIUR" in front of safety. Rolled edge long tang trigger guard engraved in scroll on bow & tang w/ SN at center. Straight grip buttstock w/ teardrops behind locks checkered in 2 point pattern through the wrist & terminates w/ a thin White Line Pachmayr pad. Measurements: Bbl. set 1: Right: 727", choke: .012(IC). Left: .728", choke: .032"(Imp. mod.). Minimum wall thickness: Right: .028", left .031". Bbl. set 2: .Right: .727", choke(.025"(mod.). Left: .727", .048"(extra full). Minimum wall thickness: Left: .030", right: .025". LOP: 14 3/8". DAC: 1 1/4". DAH: 1 7/8". Weight w/ bbl. set 1: 7 lbs., 1 oz. CONDITION: extremely fine & appears all original retaining nearly all original bbl. blue w/ both sets w/ only a few light handling marks. Stocks are sound w/ minor light impressions & some thinning in finish but retain more than 95% of the original hand rubbed finish. Trigger guard retains nearly all of its original blue. Coin finish on action is excellent w/ only beginning minor staining. Bores are brilliant & shiny. Mechanics are crisp. Ejectors are in time. Gun is on face & shows very little use. In summary, just a beautiful best quality 20th century Spanish sidelock. (22-1120/JSL). MODERN. $4,000-8,000.
